Biography with portrait. Born 1785 in Westmoreland County, served with distinction during the War of 1812 under Gen. John P. Hungerford. Lived at Mount Ephraim 18 miles above Fredericksburg in Fauquier County. Served in Virginia House of Delegates. Moved to Florida in 1827-28. Elected Governor in 1849. William P.
