MUSEUM AND BOOK SHOP:
Beginning March 11, 2026: Open 10:00-4:00 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for walk-in visitors (individuals/small groups). Tour reservations required for groups of more than 10 people. Closed Federal and State Holidays, including Friday June 19 for Juneteenth. Closed Thanksgiving week Nov 23-27. Closed winter season Dec 18, 2026 until March 2027.

Admission: $5 requested donation per person (free for LVHS Members), includes self-guided visit of exhibit galleries* in the c.1830 Lancaster House and self-guided walking tour of the 1797 Clerk’s Office, 1820s Jail, and surrounding grounds including courthouse green established in 1740s. No admission fee for Book Shop access only.

*Current exhibit: “Storied Objects – Selections from the Museum Collection.”
This sampling of various items–accompanied by information on the local history they embody, the stories they tell, and the people and places they connect to–provides glimpses into different moments from 350+ years of Lancaster’s past and highlights examples of the wide range of objects donated to the museum.
